I am looking forward to welcoming you to the 63rd Midwest Society of Periodontology meeting in Chicago February 21-23, 2020. The meeting will be at Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel again this year and the theme being primarily site development for implants. The Friday hands-on course will feature Dr. Dwayne Karateew, Director, Advanced Education in Periodontics, UIC, Illustrating “Novel Techniques to Aid in Implant Site Development” with utilization of specialized equipment to make the procedures more predictable. On Saturday, the morning session will be Dr. Brian Mealey, Director, Advance Education in Periodontics at UTHSCSA speaking on “Clinical Management of the Dental Patient with Diabetes” and then Dr. Mealey will share “Effects of Ridge Preservation on Wound Healing Following Tooth Extraction” The Saturday afternoon session will be Dr. Rodrigo Neiva, Chair, Department of Periodontology at University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine with the topic “Dealing with Ridge Deficiencies: Current Options”” The Sunday morning session will be Dr. Mitra Sadrameli, Diplomate of American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and in private practice in Chicago as an Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist. Dr. Sadrameli’s topic will be “Maxillary sinus anatomy considerations during implant site development.”
